Offerings
I write music. It's fascinating, exciting, and - incidentally - quite therapeutic. But of what use can it be to you?
Well, there are a few answers to that question. Here's what occurs to me.
Something Old
Since 1998 I have composed an abundance of music, for a variety of ensembles - ranging from solo instruments to symphony orchestra. With little trouble, I can send you something to perform, or to look over for possible performance. For most conventional purposes, I have something that may be worth programming.
Something New
It helps that I know what I'm doing; thus I can state that I'm willing, able, AND eager to write something new for you or for your ensemble. Unusual instrumental combinations are fine. Get an idea of what my music is like and how it sounds, and then you can figure out whether that's what you're looking for.
Something Collaborative
Whether it be film or theatre; opera or operetta or musical; or, perhaps, something entirely different; I'm eager to collaborate with other people and have my music be a part of another creative project. My music has certain tension and dramatic elements on one hand; rumination and solitude on the other. Get to know my music, and see if it's what you're looking for!
Something Unique
'For that special someone who has everything...' Or for that occasion to be commemorated in a certain way that's 'just so.' Or for that event which needs that extra 'something.' --- Whatever the case, I've done this for my own purposes, and I can do it for yours. Gifts, character pieces, and other occasional music - a few pieces, even, based on a person's name or initials. Perfect for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, funerals, or anything else. I've given some ideas, but - as Mr. Spock would say, 'there are always possibilities.'
Being a composer brings a variety of other abilities to the table. So, even if you don't need a composer, I have extensive experience with other things:
- Arrangements and orchestrations
- Music theory and analysis
- Music history and musicology
Also, I have been playing the piano since 1989, with extensive work as soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician.
Additionally, I have done an enormous amount of research and investigation into Russian art, music, literature, and culture - particularly matters pertaining to the composer Dmitri Shostakovich.
