Yes, citizens, I enjoy the quiet life. But, you know, sometimes stuff happens. Here you may learn about what's new and anticipated. Some of it may even be exciting!
I will save older news items, rather than delete them; they will be periodically moved to the archive. Occasionally there will be an 'editorial,' to make more subjective statements; I shall endeavor to be light on those.
Have a look!

NEW YORK - The face of the internet was irrevocably changed today with the launch of 'mikkonoma.com,' an online resource geared towards the access of offerings by composer Mikko A. Taylor.
Witnesses described the site as 'necessary' and 'important,' while numerous pundits claimed that 'it's about time.' Mr. Taylor, 24, when reached for comment, offered some illumination: 'There is music on it. Some people will find it interesting, and others will find it worthless.'
Although rumors of the site's imminent launch had been circulating for several months, the event was nonetheless shocking on numerous levels. Would-be listener are suddenly barraged with a whole array of Mr. Taylor's works, audio versions of which are already on the site.
The larger implications of the site's launch are as yet unclear, but Mr. Taylor seemed unconcerned: 'It is doubtful that the site will lead to world domination or a widespread uprising of the proletariat. The only uprising of any kind, that is at least vaguely possible, is that some may find this site offensive for its lack of grace and its dissonant music. We'll see what happens.'

This is a professional website; therefore, it is not a blog. I hate subjective blogging and consider it to be the scum of the Earth. Accordingly, I will just say that it is my intention to issue as few of this type of statement as possible.
I chose 25 September as the launch date for this website, as a nod to two prominent figures in classical music (a) that have had an enormous impact on me; (b) to whom I can relate on a personal level; and (c) whose work has the greatest overall effect on me as a listener.
They happen to share 25 September as a birthday; one from 1906, and the other from 1932. Specifically: the composer Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich and the pianist Glenn Herbert Gould.
Their output has been a constant for me -- something on which I have always been able to lean, much like the key people in my life: the close friends, the close family, the key mentors, and others.
The other constant, than all mentioned above, has been music. It's in that spirit that I am launching this; what I do, I do well -- and I am eager to share and contribute using my abilities.
Like most people, I make mistakes - some large and some small. And, as someone who insists on having more regrets than perhaps I should, I am using the launch of this website as a springboard for my change of course and turning of the page.
Thanks to everyone who has stuck with me for the ride. To those of you (you know who you are), stay tuned! And to those who are new or newer, welcome aboard.
Here, citizens, I include links that are pertinent to the news items here. This, of course, is a selfless effort to aid your web-browsing experience. Better, I suppose, than being totally caddish about it.
No need; no links; no problem
